  • Don’t eat so much that your stomach feels completely full; try to eat small, frequent meals instead.
  • Try not to eat anything within 2–3 hours before going to bed.
  • Sleeping with a high pillow will help prevent acid from refluxing into your throat.
  • Avoid wearing clothes that are too tight around your waist and abdomen.
  • Do not exercise on a full stomach. Avoid abdominal exercises in particular.
  • Try to avoid consuming spicy, heavily seasoned, excessively fatty, acidic, and carbonated beverages, as well as ready-to-drink fruit juices, strong tea, coffee, and foods and drinks containing chocolate and cocoa, especially before bedtime.
  • Avoid fatty pastries like börek and poğaça.
  • Try to avoid consuming milk, yogurt, and ayran.
  • Do not consume oranges, tangerines, lemons, pomegranates, sour apples, or kiwis.
  • Do not smoke or drink alcohol.
